The Board of Directors at Valley Queen Cheese Factory in Milbank recently approved a $50 million dollar investment in the company’s current production facility.

Lance Johnson, Vice President of Manufacturing at Valley Queen says the company is very much looking forward to expanding its Milbank production facility in an effort to better meet its customers growing demands.

Valley Queen plans to hire an additional 25 employees, a 10 % increase to its existing workforce, to build its team to handle the additional manufacturing capacity.

The expansion project, dubbed “VQ Next,” will increase Valley Queens’s processing capacity by 25 % to over five million pounds of milk per day. All milk will be supplied from dairies within a 100-mile radius of its processing facility. The VQ Next project began in March and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2018.
