The Milbank High School football team will open up their home season this Friday, September 1st at A.B. Campbell Stadium.

Many local fans missed out on an opportunity to see the Bulldogs play a couple of weeks ago when the team’s annual scrimmage game was canceled due to inclement weather. In the past, those attending the game were asked to bring along a bottle of gatorade as they entered the main gate…

That’s Jessica Hanson, who serves as parent organizer for the gatorade football promotion. She says the unique idea, known as “Operation Hydration,” was actually started a number of years ago to benefit Milbank High School football athletes…

According to Jessica, the gatorade is used by the players during road football games throughout the season. Needless to say, the team’s available supply of gatorade for the current season was severely depleted when they traveled to Madison last Friday for the season opener only to have the game suspended until Monday due to inclement weather…

Even though the gatorade promotion has become a long time tradition for Milbank High School, Jessica says many people in the community, in reality, are probably not aware of its actual purpose…

On Friday, September 1st Milbank High School football fans are encouraged to bring along a 16 ounce bottle of gatorade when they arrive for the team’s home opener. There will be a drop off site for the gatorade at the main gate. Please note, the gatorade drop off is not being used in place of admission and is not required in order to attend the game. The gatorade promotion is not school sponsored, but it is school approved.
