Strong storms developed across parts of northeastern South Dakota late last (Tuesday) night.

Heavy rain pelted the Watertown area where major street flooding was reported. Local officials say one vehicle became stalled in deep water and several streets throughout town were barricaded due to rising floodwaters. Codington County Emergency Management officials reported 2.4 inches of rain had fallen near Sandy Shores State Park as well.

In Clark County, officials say a brief tornado touch down was reported at Bradley with another tornado being reported near the town of Clark. No immediate reports of damage were received.

Large hail also fell across parts of Spink and Brown counties where local officials say numerous windows were broken with significant crop damage also being reported.

Strong storms also moved through Deuel County as well with a 54 mile-an-hour thunderstorm wind gust being reported west of Clear Lake.

Much quieter weather is on tap for the regional area for today (Wednesday).
