Milbank School Board Approves New District Crisis Management Plan

The Milbank school district has a new crisis management plan in place to better deal with any potentially dangerous situations which may result in the potential lock down of school facilities at any given time. The board this week also concurred with a recommendation to hire an engineering firm to study the immediate and long-term building improvement needs at Koch Elementary School…


In another matter, the board approved an amended contract with the South Dakota Department of Transportation regarding the future purchase and use of a new activity bus for school related activities as Superintendent Graf explains…


The board also reviewed a preliminary draft of a proposed school calendar for the 2018-19 school year…

The board also approved two open enrollment requests involving students from the Ortonville and Big Stone City School Districts. It was also noted that the official enrollment count for the Milbank School District for the current fall semester was reported at 958 students. The final enrollment tally will now be submitted to the state, thus allowing the district to receive additional state aid as needed.
