Large Turnout Reported for Annual Milbank Snow Queen Festival

A large gathering of people turned out for this year’s annual Milbank Snow Queen Festival held Saturday evening in the Milbank High School Theatre.

Ten girls took the stage with each contestant vying for the title of “Miss Milbank.” Following the on-stage judging competition, Katie Vander Wal, daughter of Paul and Dawn Vander Wal was named as the 2018 Milbank Snow Queen.

In addition to be crowned as the new Miss Milbank, Katie was also awarded a $500 scholarship.
Christina Lusk was named as first runner-up and was awarded a $250 scholarship. Christina DiNatale was second runner-up and received a $150 scholarship.

There was also a “Little Miss Milbank” contest with 32 kindergarten girls vying for this year’s title. This year’s winner was Marley Pinkert, daughter of Justin and Katie Pinkert.

Following the festival, an “After Party” event was held at the Speedway Event Center in Milbank.
