The South Dakota Department of Public Safety says one person has died and another was seriously injured in a single vehicle accident early Saturday morning on Interstate 29 north of Sisseton.
Investigators say a pickup truck was traveling southbound on I-29 when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned.
A 23-year-old female passenger was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 28-year-old male driver was transported to a hospital in Fargo, North Dakota with serious non-life threatening injuries.
Neither person was wearing a seat belt. Charges are pending against the driver.
The names of the two people involved in the accident have not yet been released.
