The city of Webster has issued a water emergency for the entire community until further notice.

A formal notice was issued by the Day County Sheriff’s office late yesterday (Monday) afternoon advising people of the community not to use any tap water unless it’s an absolute emergency.

Local officials say the problem with the city’s water system developed yesterday (Monday) morning when a water main ruptured, leaving most of the town’s residents without tap water.

City crews are currently working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
