Wintry conditions are being blamed for a semi rollover accident which occurred early this (Monday)
morning on Interstate 29 near the Waverly interchange in Codington County.
At around 6:15 a.m., Watertown Fire and Rescue crews responded to a report of an accident on I-29 northbound near mile marker 185.
When crews arrived on the scene, they found a large semi truck overturned along the edge of roadway.
The driver was able to exit the vehicle on his own and was later transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
While local towing crews were working to up-right the semi, another semi truck jackknifed into the center median while attempting to avoid the first semi. Local crews remained on the scene for more than an hour before the roadway was returned to normal traffic flow.
