Authorities in Watertown say a tense situation developed yesterday (Tuesday) during the early morning involving a suicidal man.
At around 3 a.m., Watertown police were called to the 1000 block of 13th Street Southwest by someone who indicated that a man was threatening to harm himself.
Authorities say the 48-year-old man was intoxicated and armed with a knife.
After a lengthy period of time, police were finally able to talk the man into surrendering peacefully without further incident.
He was taken into custody and placed in the care of local mental health care professionals.
