Emergency responders from Deuel County were summoned to a two vehicle personal injury accident at around 4:30 yesterday (Sunday) afternoon at the intersection of South Dakota Highways 15 and 22 on the south edge of Clear Lake.
The Deuel County Sheriff’s Office says the accident occurred when an eastbound SUV failed to yield from a stop sign and collided with another vehicle, which was traveling northbound.
One of the drivers was pinned inside their vehicle and had to be extricated by the Clear Lake Fire Department. The driver was then taken by Deuel County Ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Clear Lake for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the SUV was cited for failing to yield the right of way upon entering a through intersection.
