Fatal Motorcycle Accident Reported Near Watertown

A 67-year-old motorcyclist was killed Friday when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a pickup truck pulling a trailer near Watertown.

The South Dakota Department of Public Safety says the motorcyclist was traveling west on U.S. Highway 212 when he failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcyclist crossed the center line and veered into the path of an eastbound pickup truck that was pulling a trailer.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the cycle. He later died from his injuries.

The victim’s name has not been released. The pickup driver, a 51-year-old man, was not injured in the crash.

The accident is being investigated by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
