‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ Set To Break Thanksgiving Weekend Box Office Record

After a $18.5 million opening on Wednesday, November 21, Disney Animation’s “Ralph Breaks the Internet” — the sequel to Wreck-It Ralph — is well on it’s way towards earning $80 million+ over the five-day Thanksgiving weekend.  According to Variety, studios are expecting the animated film to land in the $90-$100 million range, possibly breaking Frozen‘s Thanksgiving weekend record of $93. 6 million.

The film, which has John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman reprising their voice-over roles of arcade character Ralph and his pint-sized speed-racing sidekick Vanellope, earned an A+ Cinemascore.

Ralph Breaks the Internet”  faces competition at the box office only from Creed 2, the sequel to Creed.  Creed 2 took home $11.6 million Wednesday night and is tracking toward a $62 million Thanksgiving weekend, which is also higher than expected.
