Two sisters from Milbank are currently among thousands of contestants who are vying to become the next big winner on the hit reality TV show “American Idol.”
Sam and Abbey Converse are in Omaha, Nebraska today (Tuesday) where their singing abilities will be on display as they audition for the popular TV talent show at Lewis and Clark Landing.
Abbey, age 15, is a sophomore at Milbank High School, while her sister, Sam, age 24, is a Milbank High School graduate, as well as a graduate of Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown.
Although the girls will not be allowed to perform as a duo per se, they are hoping to be able to audition at the same time. The girls will be required to go through two or three rounds of judging before the judges make their final decision.
If by chance, the girls should come out on top, they could join a long list of unknown performers worldwide who have gone on to achieve stardom.
