
A high speed chase in northeastern South Dakota Wednesday morning led to the lockdown of one area school.
The incident occurred in the town of Webster after a high speed chase unfolded nearby which led into the community.
Local officials say the chase began shortly after 8:30 a.m. and involved law enforcement personnel from the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the Day County Sheriff’s Office and the Webster Police Department.
The lockdown was lifted by school officials a short time later with the subject being taken into custody.
The Day County Sheriff’s Office plans to release further information on the incident at a later time.
