Daugaard Orders Flags at Half Staff for Patriot Day

9-1-1-destruction

South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard has ordered flags flown at half staff today (Monday) to honor those killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

September 11th has been designated as “Patriot Day” and “National Day of Service and Remembrance.”

President Donald Trump is presiding over his first 9/11 commemoration in office.

Nearly 3,000 people were killed in 2001 when hijackers flew commercial airplanes into New York’s World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
