The Grant County Sheriff’s Office this week has released information about a single vehicle accident which occurred just prior to the Christmas holiday which claimed the life of one person.

During the early evening of Saturday, December 23rd, sheriff’s authorities were notified of a single vehicle accident on a gravel road north of Revillo. When investigating officers arrived on the scene, they discovered that the driver had abandoned the vehicle and was nowhere to be found.

An immediate search began which continued into the following morning at which time the driver of the vehicle was located in a tall grassy area away from the main roadway.

The person involved was identified as 83-year-old Nina Brandenburg of Revillo who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that the victim had left her vehicle following the accident and then walked north along a gravel road in an attempt to find help. At some point, it’s believed she fell into the ditch and eventually died from exposure.
