Milbank School Board Considers Future Changes for District OST Program

The Milbank School District is looking at making some notable changes to its current “Out of School Time” program due mainly in part to the increasing popularity of the program. The issue was among the top business items addressed during this week’s regular monthly meeting of the Milbank School District Board of Education. In other business, the board reviewed the status of a South Dakota State Personnel Development Grant which was recently awarded to the district to assist with the hiring of a new instructional coach to better fulfill the district’s current literacy improvement needs. Superintendent Graf explains how the grant will help benefit the district’s current and long-term learning improvement needs…

The board also reviewed the results of the district’s annual parent survey pertaining to special education needs and teaching methods that are currently in place on a district-wide scale as Superintendent Graf explains…

The board also accepted the resignation of long-time high school social studies teacher and coach Rick Swensen who plans to retire at the end of the current school year. Superintendent Graf says
