Authorities in Deuel County say two women were killed this (Friday) morning in a two vehicle crash
on South Dakota Highway 22 east of Clear Lake.
Investigators say a 1998 Lincoln Town Car was traveling westbound on Highway 22 when the driver lost control on the frost covered roadway and traveled into the eastbound lane where it collided with an oncoming semi-trailer truck.
The driver of the car, an 83-year-old female, and an 86-year-old female passenger, were both ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The 56-year-old male driver of the semi was not injured.
So far, no names have been released.
The accident is being investigated by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
