The South Dakota Department of Public Safety has released the names of two women who were killed Friday in a two vehicle crash east of Clear Lake in Deuel County.
The victims have been identified as 83-year-old June Kallhoff, and 86-year-old Celia Bouvette,
both of Gary.
The state patrol says a 1998 Lincoln Town Car was traveling westbound on South Dakota Highway 22
when the vehicle slid into the eastbound lane where it was struck by an on-coming 2016 Peterbuilt Prostar semi.
Both the driver, June Kallhoff, and the passenger, Celia Bouvette, were ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. It is unknown at this time whether they were wearing seat belts.
Rodney Buffington, age 56, of Holland, Minnesota was the driver of the semi. He was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
The crash is being investigated by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
