An area family, which has shown different life-long career interests from generation to generation is being featured on a popular TV game show this week.

The Walters family from Graceville, Minnesota is being featured on “Family Feud” with host Steve Harvey both today, Monday, April 23rd and on Tuesday, April 24th.

The situation came about when one of the family members, who heard the show was looking for families, decided to submit an application to get on the show just prior to the initial application deadline. The next thing you know, the Walters were headed to Minneapolis, along with hundreds of other families to audition for the show. Several months went by before the family learned they had passed the initial test requirements to be on the popular TV game show.

When they arrived in Los Angeles, the Walters had to do another live audition the day of the filming to determine if they would make the final cut. After several hours had passed, the Walters finally learned that they had been selected to appear as contestants on “Family Feud.”

The Walters family from eldest to youngest is comprised of Chuck Walters, and wife, Deb; their son Chris; and daughters Danielle (Walters) Green and Ashley (Walters) Haglin. The story also has ties to the Grant County South Dakota area, as well. Arvid and Viney Boerger (Burger) of rural Twin Brooks will likely be watching the popular TV game show, as well, as Chris’s wife, Amanda, and Danielle’s husband, Matt, are their grandchildren.

The Walters episodes of “Family Feud” can be seen on Minnesota television station WUCW today, Monday, April 23rd and Tuesday, April 24th at 6 p.m. In South Dakota, the show can be viewed on KDLT TV at 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. both today (Monday) and Tuesday.
