Watertown Man Extricated After Vehicle Crashes Into Large Rock Near Lake Kampeska

A Watertown man escaped serious injury, but had to be extricated from his vehicle after he lost control and crashed into a large rock while traveling along the outer edge of Lake Kampeska on (Wednesday) evening.

Watertown police say 65-year-old David Hanson was traveling along North Lake Drive shortly after 7 p.m. when he reached down to pick up something off the floorboard and drove off the road.

The car then struck a mailbox before crashing into a large rock, which was located adjacent to the mailbox.

Hanson was pinned inside his vehicle and had to be extricated by Watertown Fire and Rescue personnel.

He was then taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
