Robert John Matthies, 69, of Papillion, Nebraska, formerly of Holloway, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the Hillcrest assisted Living Center in Papillion, Nebraska. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 am. Burial will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Church near Holloway, Minnesota. Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel of Appleton is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville, MN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Pastor Tim Rynearson will officiate, and interment will be at Mound Cemetery in Ortonville.
Left to cherish Ronald’s memory are his wife, Linda, of Ortonville, MN; daughters: Kristi Arndt of Canby, MN; and Carri (Brian) Hamann of Ortonville, MN; and son, Danny (Kerry) Chase of Clinton, MN; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one great-grandchild Hamann on the way; four sisters; two brothers; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
